Tuesday, June 3, 2008
Mr.
Lee Talbot, is the Textile Museum’s
Assistant Curator of Eastern Hemisphere Collections. Lee will speak on “The Language of East Asian
Textiles”. He will present outstanding
examples from the Textile
Museum’s collection of
Chinese and Korean silks, focusing on the symbolic meanings embedded in the
designs. This talk promises to increase
our appreciation not only of the beautiful textiles themselves, but of the
cultures and people that created them.
